NEW PRODUCT ALERT: ALDI LAUNCHES FOUR NEW WINES

Aldi has launched four new wines to add to its selection of brand-like quality drinks. From a deep red to a light, fizzy rosé, these new tipples suit a range of spring and summer dishes.

Pinot Grigio Frizzante Rosé - £3.99, 75cl Region: Veneto region, Italy Grapes: 100% Pinot Grigio

This light-pink coloured wine has intense aromas of freshly picked cherries and raspberries with hints of apple. Medium-bodied, with an elegant effervescence, strawberry flavours and a silky finish. Best served chilled at around 10ºc.

Perfect match: This well-balanced wine has sufficient body to accompany a wide range of dishes from un-sauced fish, Chinese and Thai dishes and even fishy and salty cocktail snacks, fresh fruit and fruit tarts. Kooliburra Shiraz Cabernet 2010 - £3.99, 75cl Region: South East Australia Grapes: A blend of Shiraz (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%)

Tasting notes: This deeply coloured wine mixes ripe, dark berry fruits with subtle spice and mint. Full-bodied and richly-textured, it displays an intensity of red berries, blackcurrants and plums leading to black olives, cloves and spice. The finish lingers with soft ripe tannins.

Perfect Match: This red is ideal for the BBQ season as it is perfectly paired with full-flavoured meat dishes. Alternatively, try with spicy pizzas and meat-based pasta sauces.

Tasting notes: From Spain’s warm heartland comes this deep cherry red wine, combining ripe black fruit flavours with a spicy hint of pepper. A deliciously smooth and bright Shiraz. Perfect Match: Ideal alongside roasted meats, pasta, cheese or pâté. Also works well with big-flavoured vegetarian dishes.
