ALDI’S NEW EASTER RECIPES HELP SHOPPERS HOME BAKE FROM JUST 44p PER PERSON

Aldi has unveiled a selection of Easter recipes to help shoppers whisk up a feast for as little as 44p per person. From a decadent Raspberry Bundt Cake drizzled with vanilla icing to marshmallow-filled rainbow Crispy Cakes filled; these beautiful bakes are every bit as delicious as they are delightful. All ingredients are available to purchase online and in-store now.

An unexpected twist on a classic – Aldi’s new Raspberry Bundt Cake recipe makes for the ultimate Easter centrepiece. This ring-shaped sweet treat is packed with creamy flavours, fresh fruits, and yogurt and is drizzled with icing sugar. Fit for the Easter Bunny and better yet, only 79p per serving.

Perfect for entertaining little ones over the Easter school holidays, Aldi’s new Easter Crispy Cake recipe is sure to go down a treat. Packed with white chocolate, marshmallows, and sprinkles, it’s bursting with sweetness and colour. This no fuss dessert is also made in just 15 minutes, providing fun and flavour in one – and all for just 44p per person.

Raspberry Bundt Cake

Serves 12

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 60-70 minutes

Ingredients:

375g Self-Raising Flour[1], £0.58

200g Unsalted Butter[2], £1.99

375g Caster Sugar[3], £1.45

4 Medium Eggs[4], £1.29

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

220g Natural Yogurt[5], £0.45

120g Raspberries[6], £1.89

Vanilla Icing:

250g Icing Sugar[7], £0.95

3-4 tbsp. Milk[8], £0.95

½ tsp. Vanilla Extract

Instructions:

  • Pre heat the oven to 160C/140C fan/GM 3.
  • Brush the inside of the bunt tin with the extra 1 tbsp. of softened butter then sprinkle the extra tbsp. of caster sugar into the tin and tip out any extra.
  • Place all the ingredients for the cake, except for the yogurt and raspberries, into a stand mixer (or use an electric hand mixer) and mix until just combined – do not over mix.
  • Next add the yogurt and mix until smooth then fold in the raspberries and pour into the greased tin.
  • Bake in the oven for 60 -70 minutes or until a cocktail stick when inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • When cooked leave the cake to cool for 5 minutes in the tin then remove from the tin and leave to cool on a wire rack.
  • To make the icing mix the icing sugar with milk and vanilla extract then pour over the bunt cake – the icing should be thick so only add 3 tbsp of milk to begin with.
  • When ready to serve fill the centre of the bunt cake with raspberries and easter chocolate then top with more Easter treats such as mini eggs and an easter bunny.

Crispy Cakes

Serves 16

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

270g Mini Marshmallows[9], £1.15

70g Unsalted Butter[10], £1.99

180g Crisp Rice[11], £0.80

300g White Chocolate20, £0.36 x 3

180g Dairyfine Choc Um’s Chocolate[12], £0.99 x 2

2 tbsp. Easter Sprinkles

£7 + Sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Line the baking tin with baking paper and roughly chop the mini chocolate eggs.
  2. Place the marshmallows and butter into a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds blasts until melted.
  3. Add the crisp rice and stir until well combined then stir in the half of the mini eggs and half of the sprinkles.
  4. Tip into the lined baking tray and press into a flat layer.
  5. Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 30 second blasts until fully melted.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the crisp rice mixture and smooth into an even layer.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mini eggs, sprinkles and mini marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate.
  8. Leave to set in the fridge for 1 hour then slices into 16 squares and serve.
