Bun-stoppable! Supermarket Aldi has today revealed it’s bringing back its famous Specially Selected Hot Cross Bun Pudding and Oozy Egg Trifle, which will hit shelves this Easter – sure to have fans absolutely egg-static!
Made using Aldi’s award-winning Specially Selected Luxury Hot Cross Buns, the Specially Selected Hot Cross Bun Pudding (£3.49, 600g), inspired by the classic British bread and butter pudding, has been given a fun and tasty twist just in time for Easter. It features layers of sweetly spiced Easter buns with Chilean flame raisins and has been baked in a lusciously creamy vanilla custard. Available 11th April.
The Oozy Egg Trifle (£1.99, 500g) caused quite the egg-citment amongst Aldi shoppers last year and is set to make its egg-citing return this year. This delicious, fun pud contains all the chocolatey goodness of a traditional chocolate trifle with a sweet Easter twist. Packed with layers of rich chocolate mousse, chocolate custard and smooth cream, the trifle is topped with a sweet oozy egg fondant. Serves four. Available 11th April.
No dessert table is complete without a cheesecake and Aldi has cracked out a delicious Easter Cheesecake (£2.99, 500g). A classic dessert with a difference, this please-all-pud pairsa beautifully rich vanillaNew York style cheesecake with a crumbly biscuit base, topped with chocolate sauce, shavings and mini eggs. Available in stores 14th April.
Or for a smaller dessert, shoppers can opt for the Specially Selected Ganache Pots (99p, 90g). These luxurious little potsare available in smooth Belgian Chocolate, Moorish Salted Caramel or Lemon Posset. Available in stores and online now.
