Aldi to raise £5m to ensure no young person faces cancer alone

  • Five year partnership aims to raise £5 million to support charity’s mission to ensure no young person faces cancer alone

No young person should face cancer alone but according to Teenage Cancer Trust, only half of 13-24 year olds with cancer currently have access to their specialist support and services.
 
Aldi’s partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust will see Aldi’s staff and customers come together to help to change that by meeting a life-changing fundraising target of £5 million over the next five years. 
 
Teenage Cancer Trust delivers world-class cancer care and support to young people diagnosed with cancer aged 13 to 24. They work in partnership with the NHS to provide highly-trained expert staff and specialist cancer units in NHS hospitals across the UK. The charity is there at every stage, from diagnosis, through treatment and after treatment. It also brings young people with cancer together so they can support each other.
 
Money raised throughout the partnership will go towards helping Teenage Cancer Trust to reach every young person with cancer. Aldi will utilise its national resources to fully support the charity and will match its regional depots with regional units in NHS hospitals to provide the most meaningful local impact at national scale.

Aldi has recently been revealed as the headline sponsor of Teenage Cancer Trust's fundraising concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2017. Since 2000, the shows have played a vital role in helping the charity having raised over £24 million to provide 28 specialist cancer units and over 60 nursing and support staff in NHS hospitals across the UK.
