The discount supermarket is the big winner at the prestigious Great Taste Awards, dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the food world
Aldi scoops 43 stars, more than any other supermarket*, for own label food and drinks
Discount supermarket Aldi has once again triumphed at the Great Taste Awards, picking up 43 coveted stars for 37 products in recognition of their great quality and unbeatable value.
Aldi beat competition from the likes of Marks & Spencer at this year’s ceremony, winning over the judges with a wide range of own label food and drink products - spanning from fresh meat to gins and whiskies!
Aldi’s premium range, Specially Selected, dominated the wins with 30 stars awarded to products like the Specially Selected Smoked Salmon and Specially Selected West Country Vintage Cheddar.
They serve as excellent examples of Aldi’s commitment to offering exceptional quality products at unbeatable prices.
The supermarket’s popular Veuve Monsigny Champagne (£10.99) was also awarded one star, whilst its Specially Selected Crème de Cassis (£6.99) was awarded two stars.
Aldi’s upcoming Christmas range also impressed the judges at the prestigious awards. With the Specially Selected Exquisite Vintage Pudding made by artisan British producers winning two stars, the supermarket is clearly gearing up for another successful Christmas in 2017!
Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said: “We are thrilled so many of our products have been successful at the Great Taste Awards.
“These awards are testament to the dedication and expertise of our buying teams and the relationships we have with some of the best producers in the UK. They clearly show our commitment to provide our customers with a great tasting range of products at fantastic prices.”
