Affordable quality doesn’t have to be an oxymoron, this Christmas Aldi is offering a selection of wines from some of the finest and most famous vineyards from across the world, just in time for the festive season.
White
Caves de Perrieres Sancerre AC, £10.99
Available nationwide and online from 1st October
From the ripe 2015 vintage, this example of France’s famous Sancerre wine has a characteristically intense floral nose with lively lemon and juicy lime flavours on the palate.  The perfect festive white wine; it is delicious with smoked salmon, or for that after-dinner cheese board such as the Specially Selected French Cheese Selection.
 
 
Jean Bouchard Montagny Premier Cru, £13.99
Available nationwide and online from 14th November
Fresh on the nose with subtle hints of oak, this elegant wine has soft tannins and notes of white blossoms. The freshness and minerality make this Premier Cru Chardonnay an ideal wine to enjoy as an aperitif on Christmas day with a canape such as the Specially Selected Fish & Seafood Verrine.
 
 
 
Astelia Limoux Chardonnay by Jean Claude Mas, £8.99

This classic Bordeaux red is from the elite region of Paulliac, famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon driven fine wines. Rich and full bodied it boasts lusciously ripe black fruit flavours with remarkable notes of tobacco and graphite. A perfect treat with red meat dishes.
Zom Douro Reserva, £8.99

The Zom Reserva is made from the noblest Douro grapes which reveal a complex aroma of ripe red fruits and scents of wood. This elegant wine has a long, fruity finish and is perfectly matched with red meat, game and cheeses such as Specially Selected French Ripening Brie.

This deep ruby red wine from the Laguedoc region has distinctive notes of black cherry and blackberry. It has smooth tannins and a long concentrated finish, and is best enjoyed with full-flavoured red meat dishes.

·                Aldi is the highest ranked supermarket in the Institute of Customer Services’ UK Customer Satisfaction Index 2017.
·                Aldi launched its eCommerce platform in January 2016, selling a range of high quality wines and Specialbuys – receiving approximately over 11,000 orders per week.
·                Aldi is the official supermarket partner of Team GB, and has extended this commitment to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
