Supermarket Aldi have launched Specially Selected Whole Seabass and Specially Selected Whole Seabream in all stores for only £3.49 (400g).
Aldi will be stocking WHOLE fish that has already been prepared - gutted, descaled and had the back bones removed.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, says: “Although Whole Fish is renowned for being juicier and moister than fillets and steaks, some people are put off from eating it because of the time and effort needed for preparation. This summer, this needn’t be the case, as we have taken the fuss out of the process leaving our customers with more time to enjoy eating this restaurant quality fish.”
Aldi’s whole Seabream and whole Seabass have been responsibly sourced from the Aegean Sea and are a delicious summer meal solution which can be enjoyed oven cooked, grilled or barbecued.
Looking for a quick and delicious barbecue meal? Simply drizzle with olive oil and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. For a citrus-spiked seabass, stuff the fish with fresh lemon and orange slices, bay leaves, and fragrant thyme. For a Mediterranean-style seabream, use garlic, sundried tomatoes and fresh coriander. Lightly grill until fish is cooked thoroughly and enjoy the luxurious flavours of the sea that seep through.
