Mother’s Day 2016: Aldi mums are always by your side
03 Mar 2016

In honour of Mother’s Day on Sunday 6 March, Aldi, the UK’s number one supermarket in 2015 as voted by Which?, asked its customers to tell them about a time their mums were well and truly by their side.

Here we share the results ranging from the heart-warming to the hilarious.

Rescue remedy
My mum rescued me from the roof of a hotel by scaling the fire escape and getting help, only I could be dizzy enough to lock myself out! She is always rescuing me from myself!! (Ellie Rose)

Feeling a little grey?
Baby brain got the better of me and I accidentally put a black item in the wash with a load of white baby clothes and they all turned grey. I panicked and was very upset but my mum managed to get them all white again! (Paula Phillips)

Take off your rose-tinted glasses
She scared off one of my girlfriends, which I didn't appreciate at the time, but very glad about now! (Pete McLaughlin)

Bad case of the blues
My mum helped me clean up once when my youngest poured blue paint all over my wooden floor.  I thought it was completely ruinued but she actually managed to get  it looking spick and span before my husband came home... so she well and truly got me out of a sticky situation! (Kate C Greenaway)

Horse play
My mum has helped me out of loads of sticky situations. The main one was when I booked a last minute holiday but couldn't get the time off work...so she pretended to be me every day, calling in sick with 'a throat infection'. I don’t think they believed me though when I strolled back in a week later when a fab tan! (Keri Lee)
