LET’S TOAST ALDI’S GRAPE BRITISH WINES DURING ENGLISH WINE WEEK

What better way to celebrate English Wine Week (20th – 28th June) and discover what this country has to offer in the world of wine than with a host of delicious English tipples from Aldi?

English wine is increasingly becoming the UK’s go to grape, with more than 450 wineries and around 3.15m bottles produced a year. Aldi’s finest English wines include award-winning bottles from home-grown winery Lyme Bay – all for under £15!

Renowned for its quality and innovation, Lyme Bay Winery is found in the rolling hills of south Devon, with the stunning Jurassic coastline nearby. The winery prides itself for being the only English Winery to achieve an A* accreditation for manufacturing quality from the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

Lyme Bay Winery has the perfect selection of gorgeous tasting wines from different grape variants, so you can celebrate this English Wine Week.

Starting with Aldi’s Lyme Block White English Wine (£8.99), this has quickly become a firm favourite with shoppers. The white wine tipple has been made using England’s signature grape, Bacchus, dubbed by experts as the ‘Sauvignon Blanc of England’.

The ‘pop’-ularity of English sparkling wine shows no signs of stopping[1]. At just £14.99, the Exquisite Lyme Block Sparkling Brut Reserve is great for those looking to trade up from their usual Prosecco. This fresh and fruity sparkler is slightly drier than Prosecco and pairs beautifully with seafood. Crafted using a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Reichensteiner, Seyval Blanc and Solaris, this delicious English fizz provides a good balance of citrus and toast flavours.

Let’s not forget Brits’ new favourite, rosé. As the nation’s love affair for the pink-hued tipple continues[2], Aldi’s Lyme Block English Rosé (£8.99) is truly the perfect plonk for an English summer’s day with its intense aromas of cherries, rosehip and strawberries & cream. While British summers may not always guarantee the best weather, this delicious English wine certainly delivers on the sunshine when it comes to the flavour.

Aldi’s full English wine offering is currently available in stores and can be found online https://www.aldi.co.uk/c/wines.
