Aldi has beaten other supermarkets to be crowned ‘Drinks Retailer Of The Year’ at the Retail Industry Awards. This is the third consecutive year the discounter has scooped the top spot for its innovative range.
The news comes as Aldi unveils its winter range of drinks, including wines from as far away as Lebanon and Canada, Japanese Whisky and a new selection of No/Low drinks, including its new alcohol-free prosecco, Zerozecco.
The Retail Industry Awards are judged by a panel of independent experts. They praised Aldi for its “impressive range of customer engagement initiatives and good supplier relations” as well as the strength in depth demonstrated by its wine range.
This award tops off a trophy filled year for Aldi’s drinks range, with over 200 accolades awarded to its products, and no less than five awards for the business, including Good Housekeeping Wine Retailer of the Year, Multiple Wine Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Retailing Awards, andIWSC Supermarket of the Year.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “This award is the icing on the cake for what has been an incredible year for our beers, wines, and spirits range. Our buying team work hard to ensure Aldi offers innovative, high quality drinks at outstanding value – and we couldn’t be more proud to have that recognised.
“Some fantastic Winter drinks have hit the shelves already, but there are even more exciting tipples to come, including a brand new wine range, our most incredible range of spirits yet, and more booze-filled advent calendars than ever before.”
Shoppers that fancy putting Aldi’s wine and spirits range to the test themselves can head to their nearest Aldi store or see the full collection online at www.aldi.co.uk.
