Aldi is popping the cork on bumper sales of its award-winning fizz ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The supermarket saw sales of its Costellore Prosecco Spumante jump by over 200% in the first week of December[1], and predicts it will sell a bottle every second in the run up to the big celebrations.

The Italian sparkler – currently on offer for just £4.75, down from £5.75 – is the supermarket’s most popular Prosecco, with delicious notes of peach, apple, pear, and lemon zest.

Aldi is also cutting the cost of its best-selling, Nicolas de Montbart Champagne (75cl) again, just in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Available in stores now at a dashingly good price of just £9.99 (originally £14.49, then reduced to £11.99), shoppers better run to stores to stock up on this bottle of bubbly.

But shoppers aren’t stopping there. Sales of Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne (£14.99, 75cl) have also seen an uplift of over 30%, year on year. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and aged in cellars to enhance complexity and length, the award-winning tipple recently beat a Champagne costing more than double in a blind taste test[2].

Aldi shoppers are clearly ready to party this New Year’s Eve, as the discount retailer has experienced bumper sales of its bestselling Party Food range ahead of the celebrations.

Frozen party food has been particularly popular, with shoppers buying more than 14 million individual Tempura King Prawns from Aldi this festive season. Plus, more than 100 cheese bites are flying off Aldi shelves every minute that stores are open.

The nation’s cheapest supermarket expects sales to continue to be strong in the lead up to New Year’s Eve, especially as these festive favourites are now reduced:

Let’s Party Tempura King Prawns (WAS £1.79, now £1.19, 12 pack)

Let’s Party Garlic & Herb Cheese Bites (WAS £1.99 now £1.49, 12 pack)

In fact, all frozen party food at Aldi is reduced by at least 25% until 31st December.

With this year’s celebrations expected to go off with a bang, Aldi’s range of quality fizz is perfect for raising a toast to 2024.
