One of the featured brews has been dubbed the “definition of taps aff beer” and apparently tastes even better in the Scottish sunshine
Beer lovers across the capital are in for treat this month as Aldi Scotland has unveiled a selection of craft beers from Edinburgh’s most-loved breweries as part of its 27th Scottish Beer Festival.
The festival is set to showcase 25 craft beers from five regions in Scotland, including Edinburgh and the Lothians, the central belt, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and the Highlands, giving customers the opportunity to sample locally produced, top-quality brews at low prices.
Named the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket in 2021 by Which?, Aldi guarantees some of the most competitive pricing on Scottish food and drink, while still retaining the highest quality in its products.
Three of Cold Town Beer’s brews, including a New England IPA, Mango Sour, and a Peachy Summer Ale, will feature in this summer’s line-up as new additions to Aldi Scotland’s shelves. Each beer is only available to purchase at Aldi’s 103 Scottish stores. Dubbed the “definition of taps aff beer”, the Peachy Summer Ale has a sweet malty base with fruit hope overtones and a fresh peach aroma, making it the perfect drink to sip in the Scottish sunshine.
Ed Evens, Head Brewer at Cold Town Beer, said: “We are very pleased to be one of three Edinburgh brewers to feature in Aldi’s Scottish Beer Festival. Ever since we started supplying Aldi, we have been encouraged by their strong support of Scotland’s craft beer industry. We’re looking forward to finding out what their customers think of this year’s line-up.”
Stewart Brewing’s best-selling Holyrood Pale Ale and Island Getaway Kettle Sour will also join Aldi Scotland’s line-up as exclusives to the retailer. What’s more, beer lovers can also get their hands on Innis & Gunn’s famous crisp lager, which is available in a larger 660ml bottle from Aldi stores across Scotland.
Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland, said: “Our Scottish Beer Festivals are always a big event in the Aldi Scotland calendar. I’m proud that the relationships we have built with Scottish brewers over the years mean that we can showcase some truly excellent beers to a wider audience, such as this year’s selection from Edinburgh.”
Celebrating the 10th year of Scottish Beer Festivals, products will be available in store from 28th July. Visit aldi.co.uk/scottishbeerfestival to find out more. You can find your nearest Aldi here.
