From Tuesday 30 November, all Aldi customers will be required to wear a mask when visiting stores across the UK unless they are medically exempt.
Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer at Aldi UK said: “The safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority. Following the latest Government announcement, wearing a face covering will be mandatory for everyone that shops at Aldi from Tuesday 30 November, except for those who have a medical exemption.”
Masks also remain compulsory in Aldi’s Scottish and Welsh stores.
Other measures such as hand sanitiser and screens will also stay in place.
Last night The Great British Bake Off featured caterpillar cakes in Party Week of the popular baking show. The technical challenge saw the quarter finalists take on the task of making a caterpillar cake.
The UK’s favourite supermarket couldn’t resist responding to the episode with a series of social posts, including an open letter to Channel 4, which shoppers have found hilarious. It reads:
“To Channel 4, We are intellectual caterpillar counsel to Aldi UK. We write to you regarding Channel 4’s violation of Cuthbert’s rights. Aldi has always been a big fan of the Great British Bake Off, and we’ve long craved a Hollywood handshake… But tonight’s episode really took the biscuit.”
