ALDI LAUNCHES MYSTERY FLAVOUR HOT CROSS BUNS AND SHOPPERS CAN WIN £1,000

• Supermarket launches a first-of-its-kind ‘guess the hot cross bun flavour’ competition ahead of Easter   

• Three lucky shoppers can win £1,000 each if they guess the mystery hot cross bun flavour correctly  

• The first mystery hot cross bun lands in store from 20^th March  

Bun-tastic! Aldi is launching a supermarket first taste challenge this Easter which gives shoppers the chance to win £1,000 worth of Aldi vouchers* by guessing the secret flavour of its three limited-edition Village Bakery Mystery Hot Cross Buns (99p, 2 pack). 

Launching in stores every Thursday for three weeks from 20^th March, the mystery hot cross buns will come in eye-catching packaging, daring shoppers to put their taste buds to the test: 

• Mystery Flavour 1: Available from 20^th March 

• Mystery Flavour 2: Available from 27^th March  

• Mystery Flavour 3: Available from 3^rd April  

There will be three winners in total (one for each mystery flavour) who will be chosen at random from correct entries.   

To be in with a chance of winning, shoppers must simply pick up a pack of Aldi’s Village Bakery Mystery Hot Cross Buns (99p, 2 pack), taste, smell, ponder and then submit their flavour guess by emailing guesstheflavour@aldi.co.uk. 

All that’s required in the email is the shopper’s name, age, the number of the flavour tasted (e.g. Mystery Flavour 1) and their flavour guess. 

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “We know how much our shoppers love hot cross buns, so we wanted to create something fun and exciting for them this Easter.  

“Our buying team has created some truly unique flavours that will challenge even the most seasoned taste buds. We can’t wait to see if our shoppers can crack the mystery flavours. Good luck!”

Competition starts 20^th March and ends 6^th April.

Rules of the competition:  

• Shoppers must be over 18 to enter   

• There will be one lucky winner only per flavour    

• Shoppers can only enter once per flavour. Entering multiple times won’t increase chances of winning!   

• Each winner will receive £1,000 of Aldi vouchers to be redeemed in store   

• Shoppers have until 11:59pm on 6^th April to enter
