ALDI LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST BRUSSELS SPROUT HOT SAUCE FOR JUST £3.49

  • Supermarket extends its collaboration with Sauce Shop to introduce a range of festive sauces, including a Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey flavour
  • News will be best received in East England as Aldi reveals the region is the UK’s sprout capital, accounting for 11% of total Brussels sprout sales last year[1]
  • Available in stores from 28th November

Aldi is extending its partnership with condiment connoisseurs, Sauce Shop, to launch a daring new Christmas sauce which is sure to cause a stir — the Sauce Shop x Aldi Brussels Sprout Kimchi Hot Sauce (£3.49, 155g).

Controversial? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely! This one-of-a-kind sauce combines Brussels sprout kimchi, green jalapeños and festive spices for a tangy, fiery kick that promises to take festive meals to new heights.

The launch will come as good news to shoppers in East England — as Aldi says the region is the UK’s sprout capital, accounting for 11% of total Brussels sprout sales in 2023[1].

Husband and wife, James and Pam Digva, founders of Sauce Shop, dreamt up their latest creation after experimenting with fermenting Brussels sprouts at home.

Pam, Co-Owner of Sauce Shop, says: We’ve taken our passion for fermentation and applied it to something unexpected — Brussels sprouts. Our limited-edition hot sauce, made exclusively for Aldi, showcases the versatility of this superfood veggie. Drizzle it over your Christmas dinner, spice up your Boxing Day sandwich or even add a kick to a turkey noodle stir-fry, the possibilities are endless.”

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “Our latest collaboration with Sauce Shop might be our most controversial yet. Love them or hate them, we’re confident this unique hot sauce will win over even the most sprout averse.”

Also landing on shelves this festive season is the Sauce Shop x Aldi Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey Sauce (£3.49, 180g), a delicious twist on Sauce Shop’s best-selling Honey Sriracha Drizzle. This spicy concoction blends warm mulled wine spices with sweet honey and tangy cranberry for an irresistible flavour combination. What’s more, it’s bang on trend, as #hothoney continues to gain traction with almost 1 billion views on TikTok[2].

What’s more, shoppers can also pick up the Sauce Shop Spicy Breakfast Sauce (£3.49, 320g), Sauce Shop Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce (£3.49, 340g) and Sauce Shop Tomato Ketchup (£3.49, 490g), which claimed a star at the 2024 Great Taste Awards[3].

The Aldi x Sauce Shop Christmas Sauces will be available exclusively in Aldi stores from 28th November.
