ALDI PREDICTS 6 MILLION CANS OF BEER AND 3 MILLION PACKS OF CRISPS TO FLY OFF SHELVES IN LEAD UP TO ENGLAND’S FINAL

  • Shoppers set to stock up ahead of England’s match against Spain on 14th July, 8pm, which could see them win the Euros tournament
  • Aldi says 37 beers will fly off the shelf every SECOND

Ahead of England’s final against Spain on 14th July, 8pm, Aldi predicts shoppers will be stocking up for watch parties and celebrations.

With drinks expected to flow, Aldi anticipates it will sell almost 6.5 million individual bottles or cans of beer in the days leading up to the game – that’s 37 beers every second!

The supermarket also expects to sell as many as 3 million packs of crisps between now and the big game, while it’s anticipated pizza sales will jump a whopping 50%.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “Beer, snacks and football are the perfect hattrick. We’re expecting family and friends across England to gather on Sunday evening – with hopefully something to celebrate!”
