ALDI PREDICTS BIGGEST BEER SALES DAY OF 2026 AHEAD OF ENGLAND’S QUARTER-FINAL MATCH

10 July, 2026

  • Aldi forecasts its biggest beer sales day of 2026 so far as England prepare for the quarter-final
  • Across the week, shoppers are predicted to snap up over 8.2 million beers, 2.1 million pizzas and 5.7 million packs of crisps[1]
  • Almost 2 million beers, 1 million packs of crisps and 430,000 pizzas are expected to fly off shelves on Saturday alone[2]

As England prepares for its quarter-final, Aldi is predicting a huge surge in sales of match day favourites, with Saturday set to become the supermarket’s biggest beer sales day of 2026 so far.

The supermarket forecasts that almost 2 million beers will fly off shelves on Saturday 11th July as football fans stock up to cheer on England.

But it won’t just be beer filling shoppers’ trolleys. Aldi predicts fans will also snap up thousands of match day favourites on Saturday, including:

  • 1 million packs of crisps
  • 430,000 pizzas

Across the week, Aldi expects to sell:

  • 8.2 million beers
  • 5.7 million packs of crisps
  • 2.1 million pizzas

Fans looking to stock up for the game can pick up Aldi’s award-winning own-label lagers, including Sainte Etienne Premium Lager (£3.39, 4 x 440ml) and Galahad Lager (£2.99, 4 x 440ml), offering great value compared to branded alternatives.

What’s more, with the heatwave continuing, Aldi predicts a huge surge in ice cream sales with 4.5 million ice creams expected to fly off shelves this week[3].

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Nothing brings people together quite like an England match, and we’re expecting shoppers to be stocking up on all the essentials ahead of kick-off. From beers and pizzas to crisps, we’ve got everything football fans need for a winning watch party, all at Aldi’s unbeatable value.”
