ALDI PREDICTS HUGE BBQ AND FIZZ SALES THIS MAY BANK HOLIDAY

• The supermarket predicts that over 12 million sausages, burgers and buns will be sold during the May bank holiday this year
• 2.4 million glasses of rosé wine are expected to be sold, with a predicted 80% increase in sales of Aperini this May Bank Holiday
• Savvy shoppers can also enjoy a whopping BBQ bundle for four people under £2 per person

As Brits break out the grill and dust off their garden furniture, Aldi announces that sales of BBQ essentials are set to sizzle across the first May bank holiday weekend with the supermarket expecting to sell over 7 million sausages, 3 million burgers and 2 million burger and hot dog buns.

What’s more, savvy shoppers can grill up a four-person feast for as little as £2 per head when buying BBQ essentials from Aldi.

What’s more, shoppers will find a fully stocked range of sausage and burger options at Aldi this summer with seven varieties of Specially Selected sausages available, such as the classic Specially Selected Pork Sausages (£2.49, 400g) or the flavourful Specially Selected Pork Chorizo Style Sausages (£2.49, 400g). Shoppers can also fill up their trollies with burgers including the popular Specially Selected Ultimate Burger (£3.89, 340g) and the premium Specially Selected British Wagyu Burgers (£3.99, 340g).

To wash down those savings, the supermarket predicts a whopping 3 million glasses of Aldi fizz and 2.4 million glasses of Aldi rosé wine will be poured to celebrate the long weekend.

What’s more, Aldi predicts an 80% increase in sales of its Aperini Superiore (£6.99, 70ml) ahead of the bank holiday – the perfect aperitif for a summer barbecue.

For shoppers looking for something fruitier and crisper, Aldi’s refreshing Austin’s Summer Punch (£8.49, 70cl) infuses a delicate blend of warm spice and hints of citrus fruits to secure a sweet, soft finish.
