ALDI PREDICTS SURGE IN SNACK AND BEER SALES IN LEAD UP TO ENGLAND’S FIRST EURO 2024 GAME

  • Supermarket on course to sell over 4 million packs of crisps and snacks, over 1 million dips and almost 2 million pizzas ahead of England’s first game against Serbia, 16th June, 8pm
  • Over 1.9 million cans of own-label lager and 2.3 million bottles of wine are expected to fly off shelves as fans prep for viewing parties across the country

With football fever striking the country ahead of England’s first Euro 2024 game against Serbia, 16th June, 8pm, Aldi has football fans across the country covered.

The supermarket predicts to sell over 4 million packs of crisps and snacks in the week leading up to the first game and shoppers can score much better prices with Aldi than its high street competitors, such as the Snackrite Tangy Cheese Deltas, available for less than half the price of Doritos!

The supermarket also expects to sell almost 2 million pizzas and 1.5 million packs of fried chicken pieces as shoppers opt for finger foods as they watch the game. Aldi has a lineup of delicious pizzas available such as the Carlos Stuffed Crust Pizza Double Pepperoni (£3.79, 691g) which is almost £20 cheaper than a pepperoni pizza from Domino’s! Plus, it is ready to eat in half the time it takes to wait for a delivery.

And drinks are expected to flow during the Euros; Aldi predicts it will sell a whopping 1.9 million individual cans of its own-label lager in the build up to the game – that’s 367 cans a minute – and enough cans to equal the length of 3,300 football pitches![i]

The supermarket also expects a whopping 2.3 million bottles of vino to fly off shelves in the first week of the tournament alone.

To celebrate the record-breaking predictions, Aldi has teamed up with Budweiser to offer ten lucky shoppers an un-beer-lievable opportunity to win a £100 Aldi Gift Card.  And if it couldn’t get any better than that, shoppers could also be in with the chance of winning an LG TV every day of the competition.

Available now while stocks last, all beer fans need to do is buy any pack of Budweiser and scan the pack’s QR code to win or apply online upon receipt. More information on the competition and T&C’s can be found below.**
