ALDI TAKES ON GREGGS’ FAMOUS PASTIES – AT 72% CHEAPER!

Supermarket Aldi has today unveiled the nation’s answer to a pastry match made in heaven – as they launch two new pastry selections; the mighty Sausage and Bean Melt (308g) and the Cheese & Onion Bake (288g) coming to stores on 17^th May! Priced at just 85p for two, it’s more than a £1 cheaper than equivalent from Greggs which ranges from £1.50 to £1.60[1] , and what’s more – you get two in a pack!

The Sausage and Bean Melt is bursting with beans, juicy pork sausages and luscious melted cheese, whilst the veggie Cheese & Onion Bake hasdelicious sautéed onions mixed with mature cheddar cheese. All shoppers need to do is simply bake to perfection for 25 minutes and achieve a glorious golden crust. These tasty fakeaway pastry pockets are ideal for an on-the-go snack, lunch time carb fix or weekend treat – simply serve with spicy wedges, curly fries or even enjoy on its own.

Aldi has launched the new product following the success of its Bacon & Cheese Wrap (£1.39, 194g), which landed on shelf in October after fans went wild recreating their own versions[2] at home using Aldi ingredients. This also made a comeback to stores on 8^th March after being a firm favourite for Aldi shoppers.

The new fakeaway pastry selection is available from 17^th May at Aldi stores across the UK for just 85p/£1.39.
