ALDI UNVEILS ITS 2026 HOT CROSS BUN RANGE INCLUDING NEW QUIRKY MIGHTY CHEESY HOT CROSS BUNS

• Supermarket unveils brand-new flavour – a savoury Mighty Cheesy Hot Cross Bun 

• Fan favourites including Nutoka and Rhubarb & Custard make a welcome return 

• The range is landing in stores from now onwards with prices starting from just 16p per bun

Aldi has just announced its hotly anticipated Hot Cross Bun range for Easter featuring showstopping new flavours and long-awaited returning favourites.  

For those who prefer savoury over sweet, the supermarket is introducing the NEW Village Bakery Mighty Cheesy Hot Cross Buns (99p, 4 pack). A controversial yet delicious twist on a classic, these buns boast mouthwatering notes of mature cheddar cheese paired with Aldi’s beloved Mighty Yeast Extract spread, for a flavour-filled, savoury snack that’s perfect toasted and slathered with butter, or the spread itself!  

A guaranteed love it or hate it moment at the Easter table, these buns offer a low-cost alternative to the M&S offering¹, which Brits have urged to return to shelves. After spotting exclaims via Instagram including “WE WANT THEM BACK”², Aldi is pleased to answer shoppers’ wishes with its own deliciously tasty cheesy bun that won’t break the bank. Available from 12^th March. 

And that’s not all! Aldi is also welcoming back an a-bun-dance of returning fan favourites by popular demand:  

• Specially Selected Rhubarb & Custard Hot Cross Buns (£1.19, 4 pack):  A taste of the classic British dessert, these buns are filled with sweet and tangy rhubarb and creamy custard-like flavour for a nostalgic treat. Available from 9^th February. 

• Village Bakery Nutoka Hot Cross Buns (99p, 4 pack): Chocoholics will love these buns that are generously infused with Nutoka flavouring. Available from 11^th March. 

• Specially Selected Brioche Chocolate Hot Cross Buns (£1.69, 6 pack): For a truly indulgent Easter treat, these buns are made with a soft, buttery brioche dough and stuffed with chunks of rich chocolate. Available from 12^th March. 

Those who simply can’t wait to get their hands on the Easter staple are also in luck, as Aldi’s classic hot cross buns are in stores now. Shoppers can treat themselves to the Specially Selected Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns (£1.49, 4 pack) or opt for the purse friendly Village Bakery Fruited Hot Cross Buns (99p, 6 pack) at just 20p per bun!  

Aldi’s Hot Cross Bun range is available to pick up in stores from now until Easter.
