ALDI’S £17.49 WHISKY IS WORLD’S BEST FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING

  • Aldi’s Glen Marnoch Highland Single Malt Whisky wins GOLD at the International Spirits Challenge 2023
  • The whisky beat competitors costing over double the price, such as the Peat Chimney Wemyss Malts (£38.74)[i]

Aldi’s Glen Marnoch Highland Single Malt Whisky (£17.49, 70cl) has been awarded a gold medal at the world-renowned International Spirits Challenge (ISC) for the second year running – and costs less than £20.  

Traditionally matured in hand crafted white oak casks for a minimum of three years, the expertly distilled award winner beat brands costing up to 55% more, such as Peat Chimney Wemyss Malts which retails for £38.74ii

The budget supermarket also scooped up not one but THREE silver medals for its Glen Marnoch Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (£17.49, 70cl), Glen Marnoch 12 YO Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (£21.99, 70cl) and Glen Marnoch Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (£17.49, 70cl) – the same accolade awarded to The Glenturret Triple Wood Single Malt Whisky, which costs 65% more!iii 

What’s more, the news lands just in time for World Whisky Day (20th May), meaning shoppers can stock up on top quality drams that won’t break the bank.

This isn’t the first time Aldi’s whisky range has been given the nod of approval by experts – the supermarket’s quality offering was awarded a combined 11 medals at IWSC Spirits and ISC Whisky awards in 2022.
