Aldi shoppers can pick up internationally award-winning wines from just £4.99 after the supermarket secured a host of accolades at two of the wine industry’s most respected competitions – the International Wine Challenge1 (IWC) and International Wine & Spirit Competition2 (IWSC).
The IWC and IWSC are among the most respected competitions in the wine world. Every wine is tasted blind by panels of leading experts, from Masters of Wine to top sommeliers, and judged purely on quality, with no sight of the label, brand or price. Medals are awarded only to the wines that truly stand out, making them a genuinely independent mark of quality that shoppers can trust.
The supermarket picked up more than 50 awards across its sparkling, white and red wine ranges, with medal-winning bottles available at everyday prices. From Champagne and Prosecco Rosé to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Aldi’s award-winning range impressed expert judges and reinforces the retailer’s reputation for delivering quality wines without the premium price tag
10 award-winning wines from Aldi:
Specially Selected Chilean Viognier (£4.99, 75cl) – IWSC Bronze
IWSC judges praised the apricot and honeysuckle aromas with bright tangerine peel. On the palate, tastes of papaya and ginger offer richness with a soft, lingering finish.

Specially Selected Chilean Pinot Noir Reserva (£5.99, 75cl) – IWSC Silver
A red wine perfect for all occasions. This Pinot Noir offers vibrant, light-bodied flavours of red cherry, strawberry and raspberry with a smooth finish.

Specially Selected Chilean Merlot Reserva (£6.99, 75cl) – IWSC Silver
Judges loved the vibrant raspberry, plum and cassis, with subtle oak, coffee and tobacco leaf on the palate. Fresh acidity lifts the rich fruit, while refined tannins provide structure. The finish evolves gracefully with savoury undertones that add complexity.
Specially Selected Stellenbosch Shiraz (£7.49, 75cl) – IWC Silver
A deep ruby-red Shiraz from one of South Africa’s most renowned wine regions. Expect aromas of black plum, black pepper and subtle smoky notes, alongside rich dark fruit flavours

Specially Selected Picpoul de Pinet (£7.99, 75cl) – IWC Silver
Known for its refreshing acidity, this southern French white offers notes of baked apple and nectarine. A classic pairing for oysters, seafood and summer dining.

Specially Selected Chilean Sauvignon Blanc (£7.19, 75cl) – IWSC Silver
A vibrant and expressive Sauvignon Blanc packed with bright fruit and floral notes. Fresh, zesty and ideal for summer sipping.

Castellore Organic Prosecco Rosé DOC (£7.99, 75cl) – IWSC Silver
Clean and fragrant, this Prosecco Rosé DOC opens with bright citrus and cranberry aromas. The palate offers generous fruit and balance with integrated acidity, leading to a savoury finish.

Specially Selected Jolie by Juliette Coteaux de Béziers Rosé (£7.69, 75cl) – IWSC Bronze
This elegant rosé boasts aromatic green pear and red cherry, combined with a juicy palate of soft nectarines and zingy apricots.

Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut (£15.99, 75cl) – IWC Silver
A long-standing Aldi favourite, this Champagne impressed judges with its classic brioche, apple and citrus notes, delivering exceptional quality and value.

Sam Caporn, Aldi Wine Expert and Mistress of Wine, said: “These competitions are judged completely blind, with wines assessed on quality alone rather than brand or price. That’s what makes Aldi’s results so impressive, with several being awarded Silver medals even when tasted alongside more expensive bottles. With award-winning bottles available from just £4.99, shoppers can enjoy wines recognised by leading judges without paying premium prices.”
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “We’ve always believed that exceptional wine shouldn’t come with an exceptional price tag, and these results prove it. Our Buying Team works hard to source quality wines from the best regions in the world, and recognition from some of the industry’s most respected judges is real testament to that effort. More than 50 awards across our wine ranges shows customers they can trust Aldi for outstanding quality and value, every time.”
Aldi’s range of award-winning wines is available in stores nationwide now.
