The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend may be over, but celebrations can continue this week as Aldi announces the return of its Cuthbert cake – back in stores today (Monday 6th June).
Returning with a new look that includes a jaunty bow tie, the much-loved larva is expected to go down a treat with shoppers, especially after the hashtag #FreeCuthbert trended on Twitter in the UK last year.
What’s more, the UK’s most famous cake, Cuthbert, is still the cheapest of the supermarket caterpillar cakes* at a pocket friendly £4.99, beating Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco by £1 and Waitrose and M&S by £2!
Cheeky Cuthbert announced his return last week with a series of declarations to Colin the Caterpillar outside of M&S stores across the country. Prior to that, he had been taking some R&R away from the media spotlight.
Cuthbert is back in stores on 6th June.
