Ovens are facing obsoletion as 52% of Brits say there is nothing they wouldn’t air fry
Britain’s obsession with the air fryer has reached unseen heights, with 64% of Brits admitting that they wouldn’t be able to live without theirs.
As more Brits than ever make the move to air fryer over conventional cooking methods, nearly three quarters (74%) of those surveyed said they now use their air fryer more than their oven – with almost half (45%) saying they believe ovens could become extinct from kitchens in the next 10 years!
To celebrate the love affair seen between Brits and their air fryers, Aldi has introduced a limited-edition Air Fryer plushie to be won via giveaway – a nod to the product’s popularity down the supermarket’s famous middle aisle.
Fans will have the chance to get their hands on exclusive Air Fryer Plushies through a giveaway, launching 9th April 2026. All shoppers need to do is email their full name to AirFryerPlushie@aldi.co.uk before 16th April 2026.
Aldi’s Air Fryer Plushie transforms the countertop hero into a cosy bedtime companion, complete with screen details, a mini basket handle, and irresistibly squishy sides.
With 76% of Brits believing some foods simply taste better when cooked in an air fryer, people are getting creative with their choices. Among the most unusual picks are hard-boiled eggs (13%), pasta (10%), a cake (9%) and cups of tea (4%)!
With over half (52%) admitting that there is nothing they wouldn’t use the air fryer for.
Chips (69%), sausages (56%) and roast potatoes (49%) were listed amongst the foods that Brits believe taste better when air fried. When it comes to the reason that Brits opt for the air fryer, over half (53%) say that speed is a top factor, whilst 61% agree that convenience is the biggest pull.
Nearly half of respondents (49%) say their air fryer costs less to power, whilst 40% see the air fryer as a healthier option to cook in.
Of those polled who have an air fryer, half of respondents (50%) say that they turn the oven on less than three times a week, with 9% saying they don’t even use the oven anymore. Over two-fifths (41%) now agree they could continue with just an air fryer in their kitchen!
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “A kitchen wouldn’t be complete without an Air Fryer. Our research shows that the Air Fryer is more than just a gadget – it’s a staple in Brits’ homes which deserves to be celebrated. That’s why we’ve created these fun limited-edition plushies, so Air Fryer obsessed shoppers are never without their favourite kitchen companion.”
The love for the gadgets goes outside the house, as 65% admit that they would eat food in a restaurant that had prepared their food in an air fryer.
Lucky Air Fryer fans can get their hands on a limited edition plushie by emailing AirFryerPlushie@aldi.co.uk. This comes as Aldi’s popular Combi Zone Air Fryer lands in store on 12th April – and like all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
