SHOWSTOPPING CHRISTMAS DESSERTS: ALDI UNVEILS BRAND NEW MULTI AWARD-WINNING LINE UP OF PERFECT PUDS

Dessert lovers prepare to be enticed. This Christmas, Aldi is welcoming a host of brand-new desserts to its Specially Selected range, featuring fantastical confections and innovative twists on traditional classics. These decadent desserts are so delicious they’ve already scooped a whole host of prizes at a selection of prestigious food awards!

First up is Aldi’s sophisticated, Ferrero Rocher-inspired Chocolate and Praline Dome (£5.99, 500g), which landed a golden prize at the BBC Good Food Christmas Taste Test. Made by a French patisserie, using a crisp milk chocolate shell the bombe is flecked with slivers of hazelnut to encase cocoa sponge and a milk chocolate and hazelnut mousse. Available in store 26th October.

Brand new for this year is the award-winning Specially Selected Damson Plum and Pink Gin Pudding (£8.99, serves 8) is a stunning, shimmering gold centrepiece which took top prize for best Christmas pudding at the BBC Good Food Christmas Taste Test. A twist on the classic Christmas pudding, it’s packed with vine fruits, plump damsons, sweet plums, glacé cherries and almonds soaked in sherry and pink gin. If that wasn’t extravagant enough, it also has a hidden Victoria plum and gin sauce centre! Available in store 1^st November.

The procession of prize-winning puds doesn’t stop there! Named as the winner of best Christmas pudding at the Quality Food Awards the Specially Selected Golden Topped Pudding (£8.99, serves 8) is a boozy delight made from a blend of rich sultanas, currants, cherries and pecan nuts steeped in stout, port and brandy. The pudding is adorned with a dramatic gold cinnamon sauce, blonde glacé cherries soaked in orange liqueur, whole almonds, candied orange slivers and gold glitter sparkle. Available in store 1^st November.

Next is Aldi’s Specially Selected Millionaires Pudding (£5.99, 450g. This stunning festive centerpiece is ballerina-light: soft sponge with rich Belgian chocolate chunks, pieces of creamy fudge and a lustrous gold sparkle. Bring a touch of theatre to the table by drizzling over the smooth, sweet, salted caramel sauce and finish with a millionaire’s sprinkling of dark chocolate chips, crunchy biscuit and sea salt caramel pieces. Available in store 12^th November.

Back for 2020 is Aldi’s award-winning Specially Selected Golden Twist Sticky Toffee Pudding (£5.99, 700g)! Deliciously moist, golden, Belgian chocolate swirled sponge drizzled with a buttery sticky toffee sauce and finished with a sprinkle of golden honeycomb decoration. Available in store from 10^th December.

Introducing the Specially Selected Artic Roulade (£4.49, 589g). A soft, hand rolled Arctic Roulade made with slow baked meringue, filled with a sweet cherry semi freddo and cherry compote and whole Italian Amarena cherries. To add that extra touch of indulgence, the roulade is finished with a Belgian chocolate drizzle and dark chocolate pieces. Available in store 26^th October.

Vegans rejoice! Aldi is on hand with a brand new, vegan friendly, showstopping dessert! The Specially Selected Belgian Chocolate Orange Melt in the Middle Pudding (£2.99, 470g). A delicious vegan chocolate pudding made with hidden orange compote, finished with a rich dark chocolate sauce and a gold shimmer.

Rounding up the list of showstopping puds coming to Aldi this Christmas is the Specially Selected Sticky Toffee Bowl Dessert (£5.99, 985g), which has layers of sticky toffee sauce, custard and white chocolate mousse, topped with chocolate and butterscotch pieces – a heavenly finale. Available in store 23^rd December.
