SUPERMARKET ALDI PREDICTS BUMPER SALES OF TOP TIPPLES, ICE LOLLIES AND BBQ STAPLES AHEAD OF UPCOMING HEATWAVE

  • The supermarket predicts at least a 20% uplift in ready-to-drink cans this weekend as temperatures FINALLY soar
  • A 100% uplift in ice lolly sales is also expected this weekend as Brits prepare to keep cool
  • Plus, BBQ staples are set to be in demand with a 75% uplift in sausages and burgers and 41% uplift in packs of buns

As a warmly welcome heatwave hits the UK, it will come as no surprise that Brits will be even more eager to get outside and enjoy the summer sunshine. With temperatures expected to hit 23 degrees on Saturday[2], shoppers will be thrilled to hear that supermarket Aldi has brought back its range of pre-mixed frozen cocktail pouches, with prices starting from just 99p.

As Brits make the most of the warmer weather, Aldi is set for at least a 20% uplift in sales of ready-to-drink cans. So, whether it’s a backyard barbeque or an alfresco picnic, shoppers can sip down, kick up their feet, and relax in the sun.

Cocktails won’t be the only thing that Brits are after this weekend. With temperatures set to soar even further, the supermarket predicts sales of refreshing ice lollies will double as shoppers look to cool off in the heat.

Aldi has reported that the recent bank holiday saw a surge in sales for their range of frozen sweet treats with 6.5 million individual ice cream sticks, cones and lollies flying from shelves in the lead up to the long weekend alone.

What’s more, BBQ staples are set to skyrocket with a 75% uplift in sausages, 75% in burgers and 41% in packs of buns.

Fruity, frozen cocktails are the perfect accompaniment to a hot day. Featuring fan favourites, including the Stefanoff Passion Fruit Martini Flavour Frozen Cocktail and Old Hopking Strawberry Daiquiri Frozen Pouch (99p, 250ml). Prepping these tasty tipples is easy, they just need to be popped into the freezer overnight, squeezed, and transferred into a glass (or enjoyed straight out of the pouch).
