THE GOLDEN HOUR! SUPERMARKET CLAIMS REATILER OF THE YEAR AND OWN LABEL RANGE OF THE YEAR AT QUALITY FOOD AWARDS

• Aldi also took home a total of 17 gold medals at the awards – the highest number of any supermarket
• The discount retailer beat offerings from the likes of Tesco, Waitrose and Lidl

Supermarket Aldi has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Retailer of the Year’ at the Quality Food Awards (QFAs) taking home this prize for the third year in a row.

The supermarket, which has recently earned the coveted title of QFAs ‘Christmas Retailer of the Year’ for the sixth consecutive time^[1], also took home ‘Own Label Range of the Year’ for its Specially Selected Range, which judges described as “standing out for their impressive attention to detail, focus on quality and outstanding value for money”.

Not only this, but the discount retailer took home a staggering 17 category-topping awards in total, blowing costlier alternatives from traditional supermarkets Waitrose, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s out of the water.

The QFAs are judged by industry experts, including chefs, food scientists and food writers, who focus on exceptional ingredients, great taste and aroma, beautiful packaging and amazing value for money. Aldi scooping the Own Label Range prize means top marks in these categories across its extensive Specially Selected range.  

Amongst the gold rush of medals, Aldi took home ‘Best Smoked Fish’ for its Specially Selected Rich and Intense Smoked Salmon, as well as ‘Best Prepared Meat’ for the Specially Selected Parmigiana Chicken Breast Fillets.
