APPLE-SOLUTELY DELICIOUS! ALDI’S NEXT BIG THING WINNER FREDDIE’S FARM RETURNS TO SHELVES

Following sell out success, Aldi’s Next Big Thing winner Freddie’s Farm is making a triumphant return to Aldi’s shelves with the much-loved Freddie’s Farm Fruit Shapes (£2.29, 5x20g). These kid-friendly, dried fruit snacks are made with only British produce, and satisfy a sweet tooth while also providing necessary nutrients and energy. Available as part of Aldi’s Baby Event, the snacks launch in-store now – although shoppers need to act fast, as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Charlie Fermor, 35, and his wife Laurie, 34, landed the contract of a lifetime on hit Channel 4 series Aldi’s Next Big Thing last November. Hearts melted as the nation was given an insight into Charlie and Laurie’s life at Bramley Mount Farm and their son Freddie, 6, after whom the snacks are named, and his sister, Ottie, 3.

After flying off the shelves last November the healthy children’s snacks are returning in two flavours, punchy Apple and sweet Raspberry.

Made from the finest hand-picked apples and raspberries from the farm in Kent, these fruit-filled goodies are the perfect healthy addition to any lunch box or store cupboard. The fresh fruits have been dried to create a sweet and chewy texture designed with hungry children in mind. With no added sugars or preservatives, they’re perfect for those wanting to give little’uns a healthy way to keep hunger at bay.

The bite sized treats come in fully recyclable packaging, so shoppers can also choose a snack that’s good for them as well as the environment.

Commended by Aldi bosses as being ‘a fantastic product which ticks every box’, it’s no wonder these wholesome treats are returning to shelves. And at less than 50p per pack, these on-the-go nibbles are every bit as affordable as they are delicious.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of buying at Aldi UK says: “We knew that the Freddie’s Farm snacks were something special when they arrived at Aldi HQ, and after introducing them to stores, it’s great to see that our shoppers agree.

“Re-listing them was an easy decision. It’s a British product, made by British suppliers, and a healthy snack that I’d happily give to my children.”

Co-founder and co-director of Freddie’s Farm, Laurie Fermor says: “Winning Aldi’s Next Big Thing has been absolutely life changing for us as a company and as a family.

“It’s like winning the lottery for a small business and to have the seal of approval from a company like Aldi is incredible.

“It has opened so many doors for us, and hopefully we are on our way to being a household name that families can trust. We will never be able to thank Aldi, and Julie, enough for believing in us. This second order from Aldi means more than the first to be honest, all our hard work was worth it! Hopefully it’s one of many more to come.”

Aldi’s Next Big Thing winner, Freddie’s Farm Snacks, will be returning to shelves from 13th April as part of Aldi’s Baby Event.
