ALDI LAUNCHES HOT FOOD TO COOL CUSTOMERS DOWN JUST IN TIME FOR MAY HEATWAVE
When it comes to cooling down, Brits have been doing it all wrong, as research shows it’s actually hot and spicy food we need when it’s warm, so forget the ice creams and light salads! The research shows that internal spikes in temperature from hot food, cause us to sweat, which in turn cools us down[1]. It’s why one of the most popular dishes during the summer in Japan is curry! As the temperature increases by 1℃, the sale of curry rises by 5%[2]. Luckily Aldi is on hand this summer with a selection of spicy suppers to cool shoppers down.
Launching in stores on 9th June, the UK’s favourite supermarket[3] is releasing its most premium curry range yet, including a Specially Selected Gastro Collection Chicken Jalfrezi and Specially Selected Gastro Collection Tikka Masala – which is 43% cheaper than the M&S version[4].
Prepare for the rising temperatures with a selection of meats guaranteed to get the taste buds tingling:
For those looking for a tasty Indian fakeaway to keep them cool during the warmer months, there is the brand new Specially Selected Gastro Collection Chicken Jalfrezi (£3.39, 460g) – delicious chunks of marinated chicken breast in a rich, spicy, tomato and onion sauce, finished with fresh peppers and coriander.
Another Indian favourite – the new Specially Selected Gastro Collection Chicken Tikka Masala (£3.39, 460g). Available in store and online from 9th June, the restaurant quality ready mealincludes tender pieces of marinated chicken breast, finished with red chillies and coriander, and seasoned in a traditional creamy masala sauce.
Be sure to cool down this summer with Aldi.
