ALDI SCOTLAND BOLSTERS COMMITMENT TO SCOTTISH PORK INDUSTRY

Aldi has long prided itself on its support of the Scottish farming industry, consistently coming out top in NFUS shelfwatch surveys, and its support for Scottish pork is no exception. 

Aldi Scotland is the first retailer to stock Scottish Outdoor Bred Pork Sausages as part of its ongoing commitment to animal welfare standards.  

The sausages come from outdoor bred pigs that have been reared in well-ventilated straw barns, in accordance with SSPCA welfare standards.   

Part of Aldi’s Specially Selected range, each pack of Outdoor Bred Pork Sausages will carry the SSPCA assured logo, in line with Aldi Scotland’s everyday fresh pork products, meaning that the pigs are reared, transported, and slaughtered in accordance with the highest welfare ideals.  

Aldi’s most recent addition to its sausage range builds on its ongoing commitment to animal welfare standards, with outdoor breeding ensuring that the pigs have a better quality of life, with access to outdoor paddocks.  

Outdoor Bred Sausages are joined in Aldi’s Specially Selected range by Scottish Back Bacon and Scottish Streaky Bacon, available in either smoked or unsmoked.  Launched earlier this year, customers can now enjoy these delicious, locally sourced rashers in their morning fry-up, as a burger topping…or whenever there is an excuse to have a tasty bite. 

Aldi continues to work extremely hard to ensure the highest quality products possible are available on Scottish shelves. It also guarantees to meet high welfare standards in its Specially Selected Scottish Bacon range and is extremely proud of its SSPCA certification.

The Scottish Outdoor Bred Pork Sausages are available to purchase now in packs of 10 (667g) as part of Aldi’s Specially Selected range for £3.29.  

Scottish Back Bacon and Scottish Streaky Bacon are on shelves now in packs of 10 (240g) as part of Aldi’s Specially Selected range for £1.99.
