ALDI SCOTLAND HAS SWEEPING SUCCESS AT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Aldi have cleaned up at the Grocers Own Label Awards 2021 

Aldi Scotland have scooped 15 awards for its own label products at this year’s Grocer Own Label Awards.  

The supermarket, which also won Festive Retailer of the Year, achieved five gold, seven silver and three bronze awards, in a variety of categories for its high-quality range of Scottish own-label products. 

The Grocers Own Label Awards celebrates pioneering and creative own-label supermarket products. These products are judged on 10 criteria to assess the best own-label products of the year, including overall appearance, flavour, quality, value and packaging innovation.  

Each of Aldi Scotland’s products are sourced from Scottish suppliers, ensuring that customers are always guaranteed to find tasty, fresh produce at great prices. 

Aldi Scotland’s premium Specially Selected range was widely praised with its Scottish Pork Sausages with Honey & Arran Mustard, its 36-day aged Scotch Aberdeen Angus Sirloin Steak, and its Tomato and Chorizo Soup, among the products recognised with a Gold Award. While its Dark Chocolate Ginger Biscuits, Double Cream Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream, and Scottish Streaky Bacon were successful in picking up silver awards.

Established in 2009, the Scottish Buying Department has enabled Aldi to tap into Scotland’s vibrant agricultural and manufacturing base and build strong and long-standing relationships. The Buying team has grown from four to 30 members of staff, all of whom are committed to increasing the number of Scottish products available in stores to over 500 over the next two years and bring the best of Scotland’s larder to its customers.
