LOCH LOMOND BREWERY SELECTED AS ONE OF JUST TWELVE BRANDS TO REPRESENT SCOTLAND IN THIS YEAR’S ALDI BEER FESTIVAL

— Aldi Scotland champions local beer makers during its Summer Beer Festival with a line-up featuring Loch Lomond Brewery–

Aldi Scotland is celebrating its 27th Scottish Summer Beer Festival this July and is championing local independent brewers from across Scotland. This year, Dunbartonshire’s very own flagship brewer, Loch Lomond Brewery, is being featured as one of just twelve brands to make their way to the retailers’ shelves this summer.

The brewer, established in Luss, near Loch Lomond, is launching two exclusive brews with the retailer this year; Cuban Heels Pale Ale (£1.79) which is a delicate sour beer with hints of strawberry and lime, and Slave to the Rhythm (£1.79), a hoppy beer with extra oats for a smooth creamy finish. Both beers will be hitting the shelves of 103 Aldi stores across Scotland from the 28 July.

Loch Lomond Brewery has a long-standing relationship with Aldi Scotland and has been supplying the stores with brews since 2013, and throughout the nine-year relationship has launched 14 exclusive beers with the discount retailer.

George Wotherspoon, Head of Sales and Development, Loch Lomond Brewery, said: “We are proud to represent Loch Lomond in this year’s Summer Beer Festival alongside a great selection of large and small brewers. Aldi Scotland has always played a significant role in our development as a small brewery, and to be able to launch an exclusive selection of beer at their stores is a fantastic opportunity.”

Aldi Scotland’s Summer Beer Festival has something to offer for everyone, from beer and ale drinks to those who prefer a non-alcoholic tipple too. In a step away from a standard lager, the selection of brewers featured at this year’s festival are also offering some more unusual choices, including; Cold Town Brew’s Peachy Summer Ale, Cold Town Brew’s Mango Sour, or Thistly Cross’ non-alcoholic Elderflower Cider.

Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland, said: “The Summer Beer Festival is one of Aldi Scotland’s biggest and most-loved annual events. The relationships we have developed with our Scottish brewers across the country mean we can give our customers the exclusive first taste of a fantastic range of locally brewed beers.”

The Aldi Scotland Summer Beer Festival further reinforces the retailer’s commitment to championing locally sourced produce and supporting local businesses. Aldi currently works with over 90 local suppliers, stocking 450 Scottish products and is constantly looking to bring more of Scotland’s vibrant food and drink industry to its customers.

Aldi is the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket 2021 according to Which? and offers outstanding deals on locally sourced, Scottish beer products, without scrimping on the quality.
