With household costs rising, new data reveals that parents are increasingly looking for more affordable options when it comes to nappies, as Aldi sees a 21% uplift in sales YoY.
According to Aldi, which was voted Supermarket of the Year 2022 at the Loved by Parents Awards last month, parents can save nearly £250 in their bundle of joy’s first year by switching to baby and toddler brand, Mamia.
The news coincides with data showing that two in five parents (19%) are now choosing to buy Aldi’s award-winning Mamia range, making it the largest UK retailer for own brand nappies.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “Becoming a parent can be both exciting and scary, even when there isn’t a cost of living crisis. Research shows that in their first year, babies will go through around 3,000 nappies – that’s roughly eight every day – which soon adds up.
“At Aldi, we’re focused on helping shoppers make real savings – and they needn’t compromise on quality, especially when it comes to necessities like nappies and baby food for the littlest family members.
“Parents can save a huge £244 over the first 12 months just by switching to Mamia nappies, which can make a real difference.”
The £244 saving over the first 12 months is calculated based on the below, when compared to leading brand, Pampers:
