NEW CATERPILLAR CAKE JAR RECIPES FROM ALDI INCLUDING CHOCOLATE & LEMON FLAVOURS

The delicious desserts combine a range of swiss roll, frosting and topping flavours to make customers’ sweet dreams crumb true.  Aldi’s recipes use classic flavours to produce delectable and surprisingly simple puddings in a pot: toffee & chocolate, lemon & chocolate and strawberry & cream.

TOFFEE & CHOCOLATE CUTHBERT POT 

Ingredients: 

  • Double Chocolate Swiss Roll 
  • Dessert Menu Chocolate Mousse 
  • Madeira Cake 
  • Toffee Sauce 
  • Chocolate Frosting 
  • Milk and White Chocolate Chips 

Method: 

  1. Arrange 3 slices of Double Chocolate Swiss Roll around the base of a mason jar. 
  2. Spoon in 2 pots of Chocolate Mousse. 
  3. Crumble ¼ of a Madeira cake and sprinkle into the jar. 
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of dessert toffee sauce.  
  5. Top with 2 tablespoons of chocolate flavour frosting.  
  6. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of milk and white chocolate chips.  

LEMON & CHOCOLATE CUTHBERT JAR 

Ingredients 

  • Specially Selected Lemon Swiss Roll 
  • Apple Sauce 
  • Digestive Biscuits 
  • Specially Selected Sicilian Lemon Yogurt 
  • Lemon Mini Meringues 
  • Smooth Biscuit Spread  
  • Chocolate Sauce 

Method: 

  1. Arrange 3 slices of Specially Selected Lemon Swiss Roll around the base of a mason jar. 
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of apple sauce. 
  3. Mix 4 crumbled digestive biscuits with a tablespoon of biscuit spread and add to the jar. 
  4. Top with a pot of lemon yoghurt and decorate with mini lemon meringues.  
  5. Drizzle with a tablespoon of chocolate dessert sauce to serve.  

STRAWBERRY & CREAM CUTHBERT POT 

Ingredients 

  • Specially Selected Strawberry and Clotted Cream Swiss Roll 
  • Fresh Strawberries 
  • Carton of Custard 
  • White Chocolate Cookies  
  • Vanilla Frosting 
  • Fresh Pomegranate Seeds 
  • Strawberry Dessert Sauce 

Method 

  1. Arrange 3 slices of Specially Selected Strawberry and Clotted Cream Swiss Roll around base of a mason jar. 
  2. Crush 4-5 strawberries and spoon into the jar. 
  3. Add 4 tablespoons of custard, or until the Swiss Roll is covered.  
  4. Crumble 4 white chocolate cookies and add to the jar.  
  5. Topped with 2 tablespoons of vanilla frosting. 
  6. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds.  
  7. Drizzle with strawberry dessert sauce.
