ALDI IS THE UK’S CHEAPEST SUPERMARKET FOR FEBRUARY

4 March, 2026

  • Consumer champion Which? has named Aldi the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for February
  • Shoppers can save over £24 weekly by switching from Tesco to Aldi

New research from consumer group Which? has revealed that Aldi was the UK’s cheapest supermarket in February, based on a basket of 89 popular grocery items.

The analysis shows that essentials at Aldi cost £24.37 less than Tesco. The same items were £27.62 more expensive at Sainsbury’s, and £23.93 more at Morrisons – with Aldi coming in a whopping £55.46 cheaper than the most expensive option, Waitrose.

The findings continue Aldi’s winning streak in 2026, having also topped the Which? charts in January and earning the title of ‘Which? Cheapest Supermarket of the Year 2025.1

These results underline that Aldi’s prices remain unbeatable – even when compared to shoppers using a Tesco Clubcard or Sainsbury’s Nectar card.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said:These latest results show that Aldi continues to offer superb value for UK shoppers. With the cheapest basket of popular groceries in February as well as being named 2025 ‘Which? Cheapest Supermarket of the Year’, Aldi proves that households can stretch their budgets further every week without compromising on quality.”
