ALDI ICE CREAM SALES ALMOST DOUBLE AS BRITS STOCK UP ON HEATWAVE ESSENTIALS
- Supermarket expects sales uplifts for sausages (+30%) and Prosecco (+50%) as Brits bask in temperatures of up to 32C
- Shoppers can enjoy savings of more than 50% on selected ice cream lines, in stores now
Aldi has announced that sales of ice cream have jumped 45% in a week and could increase as much as 100% by the weekend, thanks to the current heatwave.
According to the Met Office[1], temperatures are likely to exceed the hottest day of the year so far, with a new record expected this Thursday.
And supermarket Aldi predicts shoppers will be busy bagging BBQ essentials and tipples to celebrate.
Week on week sales of sausages are expected to jump up by 30%, whilst over 50% more bottles of Prosecco will fly off the shelves.
But the glorious weather isn’t the only thing shoppers will be celebrating this week. Aldi is helping to keep the nation cool by slashing the prices of its best-selling ice cream, with savings as high as 57%:
