ALDI LAUNCHES COFFEE TEQUILA FOR JUST £15.99

• Launch comes months after production of popular Patrón XO Cafe was famously halted
• Still available on small boutique sites and Amazon, shoppers could save a whopping £82 (84%) by purchasing Aldi’s alternative

Following the discontinuation of Patrón XO Cafe last year which lead to outrage and hundreds signing an opposition petition[1], shoppers will be delighted to learn that Aldi is launching its very own alternative, El Toro Coffee Liqueur Tequila – and it costs just £15.99!

Available in stores from the 21^st August, the latest addition to Aldi’s award winning spirits line up boasts a delicious blend of coffee liqueur and tequila, with aromas of chocolate and vanilla for a smooth yet dry finish.

While no longer in production, bottles of Patrón XO Cafe are still available to buy online but come with a hefty price tag of £100[2]. Savvy shoppers after tequila with a kick can save an incredible 85% by picking up a bottle of Aldi’s new tipple:

To create the perfect cocktail, pour the El Toro Coffee Liqueur Tequila over ice into a small, chilled tumbler and top with Irish Cream. Alternatively, give the much-loved Espresso Martini a tequila twist:

Tequila Espresso Martini

Ingredients:

• 60ml El Toro Coffee Tequila Liqueur
• 60ml Cold black coffee
• 1 tbsp Sugar or sugar syrup (Sugar syrup made with 2:1 ratio of sugar to hot water and stirred)
• Coffee beans for garnish

Method:

1. Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
2. Shake hard, make sure sugar has dissolved and coffee has foamed.
3. Strain into a martini glass.
4. Top with coffee beans.
