  • The Aldi Swing Ball Championships in SW19 is open from Monday to Friday this week and courts are free to book
  • Head to Eventbrite now to book a 45-minute court slot from 1pm until 6:15pm
  • Aldi’s promises savings of up to 90% vs Wimbledon prices, with drinks and strawberries on offer at the event

Aldi is bringing swinging, good value fun to SW19 with the first ever Aldi Swing Ball Championships being held this week, during week one of the tennis in Wimbledon.

Forget the all-white dress code and ‘Quiet please’, it’s wear-what-you-want and ‘Plenty of cheering please!’ in SW19, with good value fun top of the agenda at Aldi’s first ever Aldi Swing Ball Championships – opening today, day one of the famed Wimbledon tennis tournament.

Coinciding with the launch of the Tennis Championships just down the road, Aldi’s event promises to be the smash hit of the summer. Located in beautiful Cannizaro Park, just next to Wimbledon Common, ten swing ball courts will be available to book online between Monday 3rd July – Friday 7th July.

Court bookings are free and slots start at 1pm, with the last bookings each day at 6:15pm. Each session will be 45 minutes, allowing plenty of time for swing ball action followed by strawberries and cream with a refreshing drink at the Austin’s Bar.

The perfect way to soak up that Wimbledon atmosphere, without the cost, The Aldi Swing Ball Championships is sure to be a hit for anyone visiting SW19 looking for good value fun with friends.

With the traditional Wimbledon Tennis refreshments of Pimm’s plus strawberries and cream expected to set visitors back at least £11 per head, The Aldi Swing Ball Championships is a fantastic way to have fun this year without breaking the bank. After a free game of swing ball, Aldi’s Austin’s summer fruit punch is on sale for just 78p per cup (90% cheaper than Wimbledon1) complete with a side portion of strawberries and cream for just 89p, a whopping 64% less than those served at Wimbledon2. The perfect way to toast a victory while watching the next match in action.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, says: “With the rising cost of living, not everyone can afford to attend the tennis, but we didn’t want anyone to miss out on the fun this year. By bringing The Aldi Swing Ball Championships to Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon, we hope that no matter what your budget, you can enjoy some of that special Wimbledon magic with a good value Aldi twist.

Challenge friends to a game, or simply come along to watch, just be sure to bring the energy and we want to hear plenty of cheering and encouragement!”

Bookings for The Aldi Swing Ball Championships are strongly advised due to limited availability and can be made via Eventbrite in advance. Walk in sessions are available on the day, subject to court availability.
