BANK HOLIDAY BUBBLY AND BARBECUE BONANZA! ALDI EXPECTS TO SELL 35 BOTTLES OF BUBBLY A MINUTE THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

• The supermarket will sell around 300,000 glasses of prosecco a day after a whopping 300% surge in sales ahead of the bank holiday weekend versus last year
• The supermarket has slashed the price of its popular Costellore Prosecco Spumante DOC to just £4.49 a bottle – available while stocks last
• Over nine million burgers, sausages and bread rolls are also expected to sell over the weekend

Cheapest supermarket Aldi[1] is predicting bumper sales of its award-winning fizz range this bank holiday weekend, with sales expected to jump 300% as Brits celebrate an extra day off work.

Fizz fanatics across the UK are set to purchase around 35 bottles of prosecco a minute over the bank holiday – that’s around 300,000 glasses of bubbles flying of Aldi’s shelves each day.

Shoppers will therefore be delighted to learn that the supermarket has slashed the cost of its popular Costellore Prosecco Spumante DOC across stores nationwide. Reduced to £4.49 a bottle (originally £5.75, 75cl), this Italian sparkler is favoured for its delicious fruity notes of peach, apple, pear and lemon zest. A refreshing and aesthetically pleasing bottle of bubbles, it is perfect on its own or in a fruity bellini.

Despite a wet and windy few weeks, Aldi also predicts that shoppers will be dusting off the barbecue this bank holiday, with sales of barbecue staples anticipated to skyrocket. The supermarket expects to sell over a million burgers, one and a half million buns and seven million sausages!

Shoppers should look no further than Aldi for the perfect burger for their barbecue, with the Specially Selected Wagyu Burgers (£3.49, 340g) earning plaudits from Good Housekeeping[1] and The Great Taste Awards[2]. The Specially Selected Sliced Brioche Burger Buns (£1.05, 4pk) have also won the crown of Best Burger Bun from Good Housekeeping for the third year in a row.
