Forget the morning cuppa — health nutritionist and social media sensation, GQ Jordan, is proving Aldi’s NEW Matcha Latte (£1.49, 84g) is the secret ingredient shoppers never knew they needed. Available in stores nationwide from 24th July.

With #matcha taking the wellness world by storm (racking up over 2.4 million posts on TikTok alone[1]), GQ Jordan, whose expertise has reached millions of views, put Aldi’s new matcha to the ultimate test.

“Today, I’m doing something a little bit creative,” she says, “and no, I don’t mean latte art.”

The result? A tasty collection of unique dishes that are anything but traditional. From sweet treats like matcha French toast to savoury sensations including hummus and pesto pasta, these matcha focused recipes are already a hit with fans.

But the real showstopper? Her easy-to-makematcha cottage cheese ice cream. Taking just minutes to create, this viral creation has sent her TikTok followers into a frenzy, racking up 18.7K views and 39 comments to date.

Shoppers can recreate Jordan’s matcha-made-in-heaven recipes by following the below methods:

Recipe: Matcha Cottage Cheese Ice Cream

Ingredients:  

  • 1 Matcha Latte Sachet  
  • 1 Nature’s Pick Banana  
  • 300g Emporium Full Fat Plain Cottage Cheese  
  • 2 tbsp Grandessa Squeezy Honey or Specially Selected Maple Syrup 
  • Handful of The Foodie Market Roasted Pistachios 
  • 2-3 Nature’s Pick Raspberries 

Method: 

  • Add all ingredients to a blender before mixing  
  • Freeze for two hours  
  • Take out and allow it to soften for a couple of minutes  
  • Top with crushed pistachios and fresh raspberries before serving – enjoy! 

Recipe: Matcha Hummus 

Ingredients:  

  • 1 Matcha Latte Sachet 
  • 1 tin of Four Seasons Chickpeas (240g drained) 
  • 2 tbsp Food Market Almond Butter (approx. 30g) 
  • 1-2 cloves of Nature’s Pick Garlic  
  • Juice of 1 Everyday Essential Lemon 
  • ½ tsp Ready, Set…Cook! Cumin 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 2-3 ice cubes 

Method: 

  • Add chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, almond butter, cumin, Aldi’s Matcha Latte, and salt to a blender 
  • Blitz until partly smooth, add ice cubes, and blend again until creamy 
  • Great on toast, crackers or with veg! 

Recipe: Matcha Pesto Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1 Matcha Latte Sachet
  • 30g Nature’s Pick Baby Spinach
  • 60g Four Seasons Green Peas
  • 75-100g Cucina Wholewheat Spaghetti 
  • 1 clove of Nature’s Pick Garlic
  • Juice of ½ Everyday Essential Lemon
  • 2 tbsp Solesta Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  • Blend spinach, peas, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, Aldi’s Matcha Latte, salt and pepper until smooth
  • Toss through warm pasta
  • Optional: Top with grated Specially Selected Parmigiano Reggiano or lemon zest

Recipe: Matcha French Toast 

Ingredients:  

  • 1 Matcha Latte Sachet  
  • 2 slices of Specially Selected Dark Rye Sourdough  
  • 1 British Large Free-Range Egg  
  • 100g Brooklea Fat Free Greek Style Yoghurt   
  • 60ml Cowbelle Semi Skimmed Milk  
  • ½ tsp The Pantry Madagascan Vanilla Extract  
  • Ready, Set…Cook! Cinnamon 
  • 40g Specially Selected Strawberries 
  • 1 tbsp Specially Selected Maple Syrup  

Method: 

  • Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and Aldi’s Matcha Latte 
  • Soak the bread in the mixture, then pan-fry on both sides until golden 
  • Serve with Greek yoghurt, berries, and a drizzle of maple syrup  

Recipe: Matcha Cheesecake Bites   

Ingredients:  

Base: 

  • 100g Everyday Essentials Porridge Oats (blitzed into flour) 
  • 25g The Foodie Market Flaxseeds  
  • 12 The Foodie Market Pitted Dates 
  • ½ tsp The Pantry Madagascan Vanilla Extract  
  • Pinch of sea salt  

Filling: 

  • 1 Matcha Latte Sachet 
  • 225g The Cheese Emporium Full Fat Soft Cheese 
  • ¼ cup of Asia Specialties Coconut Milk  
  • ⅓ cup of Specially Selected Maple Syrup 
  • Juice of ½ Everyday Essential Lemon 
  • Pinch of sea salt 

Method: 

  • Put a tin of coconut milk in the fridge the night before – this will help the cream to rise to the top, spoon out the cream and use when blending the filling 
  • Blend the base ingredients and press into silicone moulds 
  • Blend the filling ingredients until smooth, pour over the base, and freeze until firm 
  • Let them thaw for 5-10 minutes before serving 
  • Optional: top with Nature’s Pick raspberries, Moser Roth Dark Chocolate, or a dusting of Aldi’s Matcha Latte 

Aldi’s NEW Matcha Latte is available in stores nationwide from 24th July. But shoppers better be quick as with all Aldi Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
