TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALDI’S WINTER FUND (the “Competition”)

This page tells you the terms on which you may enter the Competition (the “Terms”).
ALDI has launched the Competition to inspire individuals to nominate a local, UK-based charity of their choice to be in with the chance to receive £1,000.
Please read these Terms and the associated Privacy Notice carefully before you enter the Competition as they will govern your entry to the Competition. By entering the Competition, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
Information About Us:
1. The Competition’s promoter is ALDI Stores Limited (“ALDI”). ALDI is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 02321869. ALDI’s registered office is at Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 2SQ. ALDI’s VAT number is GB813053468.

How to enter the Competition:
3. To enter the Competition, entrants must:
a) be aged 18 or over;
b) send an email including the name and location, including town/city and county, of the charitable organisation they are nominating as well as a short summary on why they deserve to win, as well as their own name and address to aldiwinterfund@citypress.co.uk;
4. Entries can be submitted from 09:00am on 21 October 2025 to 11:59pm on 10 November 2025.
5. All entries received after 11:59pm on 10 November 2025 will not be entered into the Competition.
Eligibility:
6. The Competition is open to all residents in the United Kingdom over the age of 18 except employees of:
a) ALDI;
b) any business involved or associated with the Competition; or
c) any of ALDI’s agencies (including any of their parent and/or affiliate companies); or
d) the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and other household members of any such employee described in this clause.
7. In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so. ALDI may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition and reserves the right to verify any entrants’ eligibility.
8. There is a limit of 1 (one) entry to the Competition per person.
9. Internet access is required.
10. ALDI will not accept Competition entries that are:
a) automatically generated by a computer;
b) completed by third parties or in bulk; or
c) illegible, altered, reconstructed, forged or copied.
11. ALDI is not responsible for any lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will not be entered into the Competition. No responsibility can be accepted for any technical failures of any kind or any unauthorised intervention in any part of the entry process, nor for any technical or human error, which may occur in the administration of this Competition or the processing of entries.
12. Entries must not contain material that:
a) is inappropriate, offensive, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory,
b) derogatory or anything similar;
c) promotes irresponsible or excessive drinking; or
d) may promote bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or that may promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity or age.
13. Entrants warrant that their entries are their own original creation and have not been copied and/or reposted from any other person(s).
14. Entrants acknowledge that other entrants may have submitted ideas and concepts that may be similar to their entry, and that they will not be entitled to any compensation or right to negotiate with ALDI over such matters.
15. ALDI reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions.
The Prize:
16. The winter fund totals £10,000 which shall be shared equally amongst the 10 (ten) winning charities who will receive the cash sum of £1,000 each (the “Prize”)
17. 10 (ten) winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from all valid entries as per these terms and conditions. The winners will be contacted on or before 14 November 2025 by ALDI or its partner Citypress.
18. ALDI reserves the right in its absolute discretion to substitute another prize of similar or greater value.
19. The Prize is non-refundable, non-changeable and no alternative will be given.
20. The nominations will be judged by a panel of judges who will review the short summaries submitted to determine, in their discretion, which charitable organisations most deserve to be awarded the Prize.
21. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final. In the event of any dispute regarding the winner, the decision of the ALDI is final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
22. ALDI will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the closing date of the competition requesting details of the judges and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to Aldi Store Ltd, Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 2SQ.
Contacting the winners:
23. ALDI, or its partner Citypress, will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If any winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed their nominated charitable organisation’s Prize within 10 (ten) days, ALDI reserves the right to offer the Prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the valid entries received before the closing date.
24. The Prize will be received by the winner’s nominated charitable organisation within three months of being notified of the win.
25. Charitable organisations may need to be ‘onboarded’ by the Charities Aid Foundation in order to receive the Prize.
26. The charitable organisation must be a registered charity in England and Wales at the Charity Commission in order to receive the Prize.
27. ALDI reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify entries or to re-award a Prize if the charitable organisation is not a registered charity or is found to not have charitable aims.
28. ALDI must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation ALDI will send the surname and county of the winner to anyone who requests this information by email to aldiwinterfund@citypress.co.uk or writes to Aldi Stores Limited, Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 2SQ (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date of the Competition.
29. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact ALDI at aldiwinterfund@citypress.co.uk. In such circumstances, ALDI must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
Data protection and publicity:
30. Insofar as ALDI becomes a controller of any personal data relating to entrants, any such personal data will be held and/or processed in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and for the purposes of the current Competition only. The details of ALDI’s privacy policy including details on how to exercise any rights under the data protection legislation can be found at www.aldi.co.uk/privacy.
31. Subject to paragraph 30 above, no personal data of entrants held and/or processed by ALDI will be disclosed to a third party without the data subject’s prior consent, other than is absolutely necessary so as to fulfil the terms of the Competition, in which case such processing will be subject to the necessary lawful basis under data protection legislation.
32. You should not submit any personal data that is not personal to and/or relates specifically to you. You hereby warrant that the information which you submit and/or distribute will not infringe the intellectual property or any other rights of any third party, and will not contain anything which is defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening.
33. By entering this Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete.
34. The winner may be required to take part in publicity accompanying or resulting from this Competition. By entering this Competition, you hereby assign to ALDI, and waive your moral rights in, the copyright and all other intellectual property rights whatsoever in your entry and confirm that you have no rights in any promotional or advertising material or similar which arises out of, or is in connection, with this Competition.
35. For the avoidance of doubt, by entering this Competition, entrants agree for content shared as part of their entry to be used on ALDI social media channels.
Ownership and publication of Competition entries and intellectual property rights:
36. The winners may be required to take part in publicity accompanying or resulting from this Competition. By entering this Competition, you hereby assign to ALDI, and waive your moral rights in, the copyright and all other intellectual property rights whatsoever in your entry and confirm that you have no rights in any promotional or advertising material or similar which arises out of, or is in connection, with this Competition.
37. For the avoidance of doubt, by entering this Competition, entrants agree for content shared as part of their entry to be used on ALDI social media channels.
ALDI’s liability to you:
38. Except where prohibited, entrants agree that:
a) any and all claims brought by them in relation to this Competition, and any consequential judgments or awards, shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Competition; and
b) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages otherwise increased. Subject to any liability arising as a result of its fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, ALDI’s liability for claims related to this Competition is limited to a maximum of three thousand pounds.
39. To the extent permitted by law, ALDI is not liable for any injury or damage to persons or property, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, from any entrant’s participation in the Competition or from any Prize.
40. ALDI is not responsible for any lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will not be entered into the Competition. No responsibility can be accepted for any technical failures of any kind or any unauthorised intervention in any part of the entry process, nor for any technical or human error, which may occur in the administration of this Competition or the processing of entries.
General:
41. Discretion: Where these Terms refer to the exercise of any discretion by ALDI, such discretion shall be absolute and no correspondence shall be entered into regarding any associated decisions. ALDI reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entry or remove or replace a winner if ALDI believes there to have been a breach of these Terms.
42. Events beyond ALDI’s control: Events may occur that render the Competition itself or the selection of winners impractical due to reasons beyond ALDI’s control. ALDI may, at our discretion, make such variations or amendments to the Competition as we feel are necessary as a result of such events.
43. Cancellation of the Competition: While ALDI will use every effort to ensure the Competition is open until the closing date, ALDI reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition in whole or in part at any time. If you have already entered the Competition by that point, we will notify you of the change via the e-mail address which you supply to us when you enter the Competition. We will endeavour to give seven days’ notice of such a cancellation, termination, modification or suspension. If this is not possible, we shall give you as much notice as we reasonably can.
44. Entire Agreement: These Terms (together with the documents referred to in them) constitute the entire agreement between you and ALDI in relation to your entry to the Competition and supersede and extinguish all previous agreements in respect of the Competition.
45. Other promotions: Any other promotions run by ALDI will be governed by their own separate terms and conditions.
46. Applicable Law: These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
