After seeing sales of pork increase by over 28% last Christmas, supermarket Aldi is launching an extensive selection of festive mains, so even those a little turkey-shy can enjoy a delightful Christmas dinner.
Whether it’s a luxurious cut of wagyu picanha with a peppercorn crust or a showstopping succulent gammon joint with a black truffle dressing, Aldi shoppers will be spoilt for choice this Christmas with an abundance of turkey free treats.
Gammon/Pork:
Nothing says indulgence like a treacle glaze and the NEW Specially Selected Slow Cooked Gammon Shank with Treacle Glaze (£13.99, 1.2kg) serves up incredible tender meat which is then generously topped with a distinctly strong, lavish treacle glaze. On sale 19th December.
For those who can’t resist a classic festive ham, Aldi is welcoming back two premium gammon joints to its range this Christmas. Aldi’s Specially Selected Decorative Gammon (£11.99, 1.2kg) offers the height of luxury. A new flavour for 2023 is the Dry cured British Gammon joint. For a sweeter flavour, the British Gammon joint drizzled in a maple syrup and orange marmalade is returning to shelves this Christmas. On sale 8th December.
Equally decadent is the Specially Selected Crackling Gammon Joint (Bone-in) (£18.99, 2.5kg). For lamb lovers, Aldi is launching a NEW unbelievably succulent Oakhurst Whole Lamb Leg with a Cherry & Redcurrant Glaze (£9.99 per kg, 1.8-3.2kg). Tender, juicy and packed with rich, savoury goodness, this showstopper is finished with a sweet and tangy cherry and redcurrant glaze – what’s not to love? On sale 18th December.
Poultry:
Experience the height of luxury for less this festive season with Aldi’s Specially Selected Ultimate Slow Cooked Duck (£24.99, 1.23kg). A slow cooked boneless British duck breast joint with gluten free stuffing, and slow cooked confit-seasoned duck legs – topped with a vibrant port and plum sauce. On sale 8th December.
Arriving in stores 19th December, Aldi’s Specially Selected Partridge & Pear Wellingtons (£9.99, 400g) are back by popular demand. Two delicate, sweet pork and pear stuffed British partridge breasts, encased in all butter golden pastry.
