TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE ALDI SPORTS FUND IN ENGLAND AND WALES

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern applications for funding from the Aldi Sports Fund (“the Fund”).
2. Promoter
The Aldi Sports Fund is administered by Aldi Stores Limited, Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 2SQ (“Aldi”), a limited liability company registered in England under company number 02321869.
3. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
4. Eligibility
Applications are open to grassroots sports clubs and organisations based in England and Wales which promote participation in sport and physical activity within their local communities.
To be eligible, organisations must be based in England or Wales and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A local, community-focused sports club
- A registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)
- A school, college or educational organisation running sporting activities
- A registered charity providing sporting opportunities
- A Scout or Guide group running sporting activities
- A charitable service fund of the Armed Forces
- A Community Interest Company (CIC)
The following exclusions apply:
- Organisations outside England and Wales
- Political parties
- Individual sponsorship requests
- Travel and accommodation requests
- Exclusive membership organisations
- University sports clubs
5. Application Period
Applications for the Aldi Sports Fund will open on Monday 3rd August 2026 and close at 11:59pm on Monday 31st August 2026. Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted. The application period will run for four weeks.
6. How to Apply
Applications must be submitted by email to sportsfund@aldi.co.uk. Applicants must provide:
- Details about their organisation
- How the funding would be used
- The expected impact on their club and local community
- The number of participants who would benefit
- Any additional information reasonably requested by Aldi
Applicants may also submit supporting photography.
7. Age Restriction
Applications must be submitted by an individual aged 18 or over who is authorised to act on behalf of the organisation.
8. Funding Awards
Funding will be awarded across 13 regions in England and Wales.
The available grants are:

| Total | 39 | £65,000 |
A total of 39 grants and £65,000 in funding will be awarded.
9. Judging Process
Following the application period, Aldi will review all eligible submissions and select the successful applicants. Applications will be assessed based on:
- Community impact
- Demonstrated need for funding
- Number of participants supported
- Alignment with the objectives of the Fund
The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
10. Gold Award Recipient Experience
In addition to receiving funding, Gold grant recipients may be offered the opportunity to meet a Team GB and/or ParalympicsGB athlete, subject to availability and scheduling requirements. Aldi reserves the right to amend, substitute or withdraw this opportunity where necessary.
11. Contact During the Process
Applicants may be contacted by Aldi or its appointed PR and marketing agencies to discuss their application. Such contact does not indicate that an application has been successful.
12. Notification of Successful Applicants
Successful applicants will be notified by email using the contact details supplied with their application.
13. Publicity
By submitting an application, applicants agree that, if successful, they may be required to take part in press and publicity activities relating to the Aldi Sports Fund, including but not limited to:
- Photography
- Filming
- Media interviews
- Social media content
- Personal appearances
Successful applicants agree to participate in reasonable publicity activities without remuneration.
14. Use of Aldi Branding
Successful applicants must seek Aldi’s prior written approval before publishing any material referring to:
- Aldi
- The Aldi Sports Fund
- Team GB
- ParalympicsGB
- Any Aldi trademarks, intellectual property or branding
No use may be made of Aldi intellectual property without Aldi’s prior written consent.
15. No Employment, Partnership or Agency Relationship
Being selected as a recipient of funding does not constitute an offer of employment and does not create a partnership, joint venture or agency relationship between Aldi and any applicant.
16. One-Off Funding
Any funding awarded by Aldi is a one-off grant and does not create any entitlement to future funding.
17. Verification
Aldi reserves the right to require successful applicants to provide documentary evidence of:
- Their legal status
- The identity and address of the individual submitting the application
- The relationship between the applicant organisation and the individual submitting the application
- Any other information reasonably required by Aldi
18. Failure to Respond
If Aldi is unable to contact a selected applicant within a reasonable period using the details supplied, Aldi reserves the right to withdraw the award and select an alternative recipient.
19. Background Checks
Aldi reserves the right to carry out background checks on shortlisted applicants and the individuals who submit applications.
20. Use of Funding
Successful applicants agree that funding will be used for the purposes outlined in their application.
Aldi reserves the right to make enquiries regarding how funds have been administered and spent. Successful applicants will co-operate with all reasonable requests made by Aldi.
21. Liability
Aldi and its associated agencies and companies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or expense arising from participation in the Aldi Sports Fund except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
22. Indemnity
Successful applicants shall indemnify Aldi against any losses, claims, liabilities or reputational damage arising from Aldi’s funding of, or association with, the applicant organisation.
23. Data Protection
Personal information supplied as part of an application will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and Aldi’s Privacy Policy.
24. Cancellation and Changes
Aldi reserves the right to cancel, amend or temporarily suspend the Aldi Sports Fund or these Terms and Conditions at any stage where it becomes necessary to do so.
25. Automated Applications
No automated, third-party or bulk applications are permitted. Aldi reserves the right to disqualify any application that breaches this provision.
26. No Purchase Necessary
It is free to apply for funding from the Aldi Sports Fund and no purchase is necessary.
27. Lost, Delayed or Incomplete Applications
Aldi accepts no responsibility for applications that are lost, delayed, corrupted, incomplete or otherwise not received.
28. Non-Transferability
Funding awards are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for any cash or alternative award.
29. Social Media Disclaimer
The Aldi Sports Fund is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn or any other social media platform through which it may be promoted.
30. Acceptable Content
Applications must not contain material that is:
- Offensive
- Defamatory
- Unlawful
- Discriminatory
- Infringing the rights of any third party
- Otherwise inappropriate in Aldi’s reasonable opinion
31. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
