ALDI HITS 1.4 MILLION MILESTONE OF FREE PERIOD PRODUCTS IN FIRST YEAR OF NEW INITIATIVE

Aldi is marking one year since becoming the first UK supermarket to offer free period products in all customer and colleague toilets.

Over the past year, Aldi has provided 1.4 million free period products, with customers and colleagues able to take what they need, when they need it – no code word or loyalty scheme needed.

Aldi has today announced it is on the lookout for 10 parents from across the UK to join its new Aldi Parent Panel – offering families the chance to bag up to £400 in shopping vouchers and free products, in return for their valuable input into future family focused products and initiatives.

New research from consumer group Which? has revealed that Aldi was the UK’s cheapest supermarket in February, based on a basket of 89 popular grocery items.

With new research revealing that many families across the UK slip into ‘hibernation mode’ during the wetter and colder months, Aldi has teamed up with Team GB rower and mum of three Helen Glover to help inspire families to get outdoors whatever the weather.

Conducted to mark over 10 years of Get Set to Eat Fresh – the discount supermarket’s long-running schools programme delivered in partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB – the research found that children only spend five hours a week outdoors in winter, compared to nine in the summer.

Discounter increases starting rates to £13.50 nationally and £14.88 in London –surpassing all competitors

• Aldi strengthens its position as UK’s best-paying supermarket with sector-leading rates from 1^st April
• Entry-level pay rises to £13.50 nationally and £14.88 inside the M25
• Rates increase to £14.47 nationally and £15.20 in London with length of service
• These pay increases form part of a £42 million investment in colleague pay this year
• Aldi remains only major supermarket offering all colleagues paid breaks – worth approximately £1,500 annually

Aldi has strengthened its position as the UK’s highest-paying supermarket, announcing pay rates that set a new benchmark for the grocery sector.

ALDI TO INVEST OVER £300 MILLION IN UPGRADING STORES ACROSS THE UK

Aldi is set to invest over £300 million in upgrading and extending existing UK stores in 2026, as part of its continued commitment to investing in Britain.

The investment will support a wide-ranging programme of improvements, including store extensions and enhancement upgrades.

ALDI ANNOUNCES OVER £370 MILLION INVESTMENT IN OPENING NEW STORES

Aldi, the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket, is to invest £370 million this year to open new stores across Britain.

This includes the development of new stores in Southam in Warwickshire, Hastings in East Sussex, and Amersham in Buckinghamshire, with the supermarket targeting 40 new store openings this year.
