ALDI RETAINS TITLE OF UK’S CHEAPEST SUPERMARKET

• Aldi yet again named the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket by Which?
• Shoppers can save a whopping £25.23 compared to the most expensive supermarket, for an equivalent basket of items

As Brits continue to look for ways to cut household costs, consumer group Which? has yet again named Aldi as the cheapest UK supermarket. With savings of £12.62 compared to the average Big Four basket, Aldi shoppers can be confident they’re getting the best deal.

ALDI INCREASES PAY FOR STORE COLLEAGUES FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR

• All Store Assistants will receive a minimum of £10.50 an hour nationally – and £11.95 within the M25 – from September
• As well as receiving the highest hourly rates in the sector, Aldi colleagues remain the only supermarket workers to be paid for breaks in shifts
• Around 26,000 store colleagues will benefit from the increase, which takes the investment in pay this year to £43m

ALDI TO DONATE 700,000 MEALS TO CHARITIES OVER SCHOOL SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Aldi will be supporting charities across the UK during the upcoming school summer holidays by donating more than 700,000 meals.

The supermarket is pairing its stores up with local charities, foodbanks and community groups via community giving platform Neighbourly to donate surplus food, with at least half of the donations going to causes that support children.

ALDI RELEASES GENDER TRANSITION GUIDES TO SUPPORT TRANSGENDER COLLEAGUES

Aldi, the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket, has launched a series of gender transition guides to support colleagues who are either undergoing transition or already transitioned.

Created with input from colleagues across the business, the guides aim to support transgender colleagues at all stages, alongside providing guidance for their direct leaders and tips for co-workers on how to help their colleagues return to work.
