As we head into the festive season, I want to personally thank you for your ongoing support. Working together, we have continued to make changes to protect you and our colleagues, who have worked tirelessly to ensure all of our customers can get everything they need from Aldi.
From Tuesday 30 November, all Aldi customers will be required to wear a mask when visiting stores across the UK unless they are medically exempt.
Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer at Aldi UK said: “The safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority. Following the latest Government announcement, wearing a face covering will be mandatory for everyone that shops at Aldi from Tuesday 30 November, except for those who have a medical exemption.”
Masks also remain compulsory in Aldi’s Scottish and Welsh stores.
Other measures such as hand sanitiser and screens will also stay in place.
Aldi is removing all plastic packaging from its entire wooden toy range.
The supermarket’s upcoming Specialbuy range includes 26 different items, including wooden medical carts and pirate ships, and is available in stores from Sunday [31/10/2021], while stocks last.
Consumer group Which? conducted its Cheapest Supermarket price comparison and looked at the cost of a basket of 22 items, including groceries and household essentials, with Aldi coming in cheapest at just £24.03. The same shopping cost a whopping 16% more at Sainsbury’s and 18% more at Tesco.
