  • 37 of Aldi’s products picked up prizes, with further results to be announced in November 

Supermarket Aldi has been crowned Christmas Retailer of the Year at the industry-renowned Quality Food Awards.

The Quality Food Awards continue to recognise and celebrate the best in retail food products available in the UK. Products are judged by the best and most respected professionals in the industry, resulting in the ultimate score of creditability. 

This is the first time Aldi has been awarded the title of Christmas Retailer of the Year, and the supermarket is anticipating more amazing wins when further results are announced in November, having been shortlisted across a number of categories. 

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said“We are over the moon with the results of this year’s Quality Food Awards so far. To be recognised as Christmas Retailer of the Year is extremely humbling and demonstrates that great tasting, exceptional quality products do not have to come at a premium price.”

Aldi’s latest success in the the Quality Food Awards comes after a string of wins in the Good Housekeeping Food Awards2020, with Aldi beating the competition and winning Favourite Supermarket, Favourite Premium Supermarket Range and Favourite Wine Retailer.

CELEBRATE ORGANIC SEPTEMBER WITH ALDI

Not only has there been massive growth in organic wines in recent years[1] but even celebs such as Cameron Diaz and Kourtney Kardashian are opting to go au naturale when picking plonk. With an estimated total of 976 million bottles of organic wine set to be consumed by 2023[2], it’s no surprise that Aldi’s range is a star performer amongst shoppers, with the supermarket selling nearly 20% more organic wine this year than in 2019.
